Come learn about compliance issues & preventing housing discrimination!

April is Fair Housing Month, and as affordable housing developers & real estate professionals, we need to be current with fair housing law to guide our strategic development, equitable marketing and advertising. The Federal Fair Housing Act protects people from discrimination when they are renting, buying, or securing financing for any housing. The prohibitions specifically cover discrimination because of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, disability and the presence of children.

Staff from HUD's Office of Fair Housing & Equal Opportunity from the Intake, Compliance, and Enforcement branches will be presenting and will provide a general overview of Federal Fair Housing law, explain all the protected classes and categories covered by law, as well as prohibited acts, enforcement & legal relief.
