We are searching for a Co-Director!

 

The Advocacy Institute is seeking its first Co-Director to join our team to partner with our current Co-Director to continue to build upon and lead the organization

Working closely with the Advocacy Institute team and reporting to our board of directors, the incoming Co-Director will serve as a strategic thought partner and advisor to our organizational members, while maintaining a strong and accessible public face for the organization. This person will also co-envision and co-drive overall organizational strategy, including actively guiding and participating in revenue generation, planning, and fundraising. 

The ideal candidate is an innovative, creative, and dynamic person who brings experience in legislative/budget campaigns and is an organizational leader with a people-centered, liberatory leadership style. 

Here are the headlines: 

  • Act as a thought partner on curriculum content and ongoing development. Bring political experience and expertise to support innovation and creativity in programming and membership strategy. 
  • Together with the co-director, lead, inspire, and coach a strong, cohesive team by supporting inter-team collaboration, and building upon a shared sense of community.
  • Lead revenue plan development and participate in budget review and management. 
  • Act as the primary lead on external relations priorities, including internal and external messaging, talking points, and communications, and representing the organization to diverse audiences.
  • This position is a hybrid role that’s based in New York City, NY
  • Compensation: $140,000 annually, non-negotiable

We are hiring a Program Coordinator!

 

The Advocacy Institute is looking for a Program Coordinator to start in late April-early May. The Program Coordinator supports our robust training on legislative advocacy and our work with member organizations across multiple regions, issues, and sectors in New York through managing the backend administrative support and logistics that make our work possible. The ideal candidate will be a tech-savvy quick learner with some legislative advocacy experience, event logistics skills, and a keen attention to detail.
