The Center for Neighborhood Leadership (CNL) provides continuing strategic support for community organizing institutions through the Community Impact Project (CIP). CIP expands the organizing capacity of the organizations who participate in the program in three distinct ways: funding, technical assistance, and collective campaign work.

What We're Doing

Organizations participating in CNL’s Community Impact Project receive funding to offset staffing costs as well as a range of capacity building resources for both individual skills building and institutional capacity building, including peer-to-peer support, trainings, and access to consultants. CIP organizations also have opportunities to engage in collective policy efforts to ground their learnings in concrete community change work. Equally important as the individual capacity building components is the program’s cohort model. Participating groups learn collectively, while creating a mutual support network that encourage groups to continually improve the quality of their work.
