Building Community Power: Organizing 101

Join ANHD for an online workshop on Organizing 101, where we will support participants in exploring organizing as a strategy for change. Participants will scrutinize power structures, explore community organizing principles, assess the role of an organizer, and be introduced to fundamental base-building and leadership development practices.

Our goals are to:

• Introduce participants to community organizing, including grassroots organizing core principles and components
   
• Explore concepts of power and the role of community organizing as a strategy to build people power in addition to understanding and assessing the role of the organizer
   
• Build community among participants to support the NYC organizing ecosystem

This workshop, led by CCL’s Intro & Apprenticeship instructor Krystal Portalatin, is well suited for new organizers or organizations interested in adopting or strengthening their existing organizing work.
