ANHD Honors Outgoing Board Members, Welcomes New

December 2, 2011

ANHD held its Annual Member Meeting on Thursday, December 1 at New York Law School. Over 100 representatives from our member groups gathered to discuss a draft “Affordable Neighborhoods” platform that is intended to inform the upcoming mayoral election. After several lively breakout discussions, group leaders reported back to the entire group and a platform emerged that presents an alternative vision for New York City that responds to the needs of working class families and preserves the dynamism of all our neighborhoods. At the cocktail reception held after, ANHD toasted four long-time leaders of our Board of Directors including Walter Blenman of Beulah HDFC, Michelle de la Uz of the Fifth Avenue Committee, Barbara Lowry of Northern Manhattan Improvement Corporation, and John Reilly of Fordham Bedford Housing Corporation. We also enthusiastically welcomed four new Board Members including Ismene Speliotis of the Mutual Housing Association of NY, Harry DeRienzo of Banana Kelly, Aleciah Anthony of NorthWest Bronx Community and Clergy Coalition, and Donald Notice of West Harlem Group Assistance. Every two years board members for ANHD are elected by voting ANHD members.   See all of our current board members
