HPD's Mathew Wambua steps down

August 21, 2013

HPD Commissioner Mathew Wambua steps down:  Deputy Commissioner RuthAnne Visnauskas to head agency.

HPD announced today that Commissioner Mathew Wambua will be stepping down from his position. Mathew was a great partner for affordable housing, and always a welcoming face at HPD. His leadership of the agency through its tireless efforts during Hurricane Sandy will be remembered by all of us in the affordable housing world. We wish Mat the best in his new position as President of RHR Funding LLC, part of The Richman Group of Companies' mortgage lending business. Replacing Commissioner Wambua is Deputy Commissioner for Development RuthAnne Visnauskas. As Deputy, RuthAnne was responsible for several innovative development programs, including the Preserving City Neighborhoods (PCN) initiative, designed to purchase the notes of overleveraged buildings, and stabilize them by ultimately transferring them to responsible not-for-profit owners. We're looking forward to partnering further with Commissioner Visnauskas as she works to complete the New Housing Marketplace plan. For details click HERE:
