Statement on leadership appointments for HPD, DOB, and Mayor’s Office to Protect Tenants

In his first few days in office, Mayor Mamdani has reconfirmed affordable housing as a critical priority by appointing several exceptional leaders in critical positions.

HPD Commissioner Dina Levy, DOB Commissioner Ahmed Tigani, and Director of the Mayor’s Office to Protect Tenants Cea Weaver are all dedicated public servants with the creativity and commitment to tackle our housing affordability crisis head on, under the leadership of Deputy Mayor Leila Bozorg. ANHD has been fortunate to work closely with each of them in their past roles, and looks forward to working together in this new moment to build a New York City where safe and stable affordable housing is a human right – not just in principle, but in practice.
