Emily Goldstein (she/her) is ANHD's Director of Organizing and Advocacy. She oversees ANHD’s campaigns, working with staff, members and allies to win impactful policy reforms while building power across the community development movement. Emily is a lifelong New Yorker and has been organizing for almost 20 years, primarily around tenants’ rights, affordable housing, and land use issues.

An op-ed emphasizing the importance of passing legislation to create a new, citywide Certificate of No Harassment program appeared today in Gotham Gazette. Co-authored by ANHD's Benjamin Dulchin and Make the Road NY's Javier Valdes, the op-ed illustrates the appalling harassment all too many low- and moderate-income tenants face from landlords intent on higher profits.

The City Council Committee on Housing and Buildings is holding a hearing today on several pieces of legislation intended to provide new tools to address the pervasive problem of harassment and displacement of low- and moderate-income tenants. One important bill would create a new citywide Certificate of No Harassment Program, which community groups believe would help disincentivize the harassment and displacement of tenants from affordable, rent-stabilized apartments.
