Ocean Podulka

Communications Manager

Ocean Podulka (they/them) is ANHD's Communications Manager. They develop strategy for ANHD's communications platforms to amplify ANHD's mission and tell the story of its work. Born, raised, and currently living in Hudson County, NJ, Ocean is a proud alum of the CCL Organizing Apprenticeship. For over ten years, they have worked at organizations fighting for the things humans need to thrive—including ANHD members UHAB and New Settlement, as well as Just Food and the National Guild for Community Arts Education, where they managed organizational communications. Ocean's approach to storytelling is informed by their filmmaking background (they hold a BFA in Filmmaking from Montclair State University). They are dedicated to creating compelling communications that lift up the experiences of marginalized peoples, deconstruct dominant narratives, and show us the way to build new worlds together.
