We planned this 8th conference day to serve, once again, as a key touchstone for the community development movement. We hope this space offered you the chance to connect with stakeholders from across the community development ecosystem, so that we could unpack some of the complex issues we are all confronting, and develop strategies for advancing our work.
The twelve workshop tracks we developed correspond directly to community development issues we know are key to the movement right now. They will offer us the chance to convene and discuss small business displacement and vacancy challenges, public-private partnerships, the Community Reinvestment Act, speculation, access to financial services for immigrant populations, and much more. Registrants for the day hadthe opportunity to attend up to three sessions, all of which fall into one or more of our 7 core community development areas:

Displacement is a growing crisis for New Yorkers as more and more communities confront this rising threat. But the effects of gentrification reach beyond just housing. Displacement is an increasingly central concern, and a central point of analysis for people and organizations concerned with issues such as police violence, schools and education, health inequality, economic justice, and environmental justice.
